Wrangler Grasshopper - Circotettix rabula - Male
Gloss Mountains State Park, Major County, Oklahoma, USA
September 9, 2012
I uploaded some somewhat blurry photos of a Wrangler Grasshopper from the same place last July:

I believe this one is the same type. There were more in the area than in July, although there are still more grasshoppers of other types. When they were spooked, they generally didn't make any buzzing sound when they flew. But when they were just messing around, they'd make long, slow flights with periodic buzzing (on and off in .5 to 1 seconds) by flapping their wings and gliding. They're relatively loud, and you can hear them from 100+ feet away. I have more photos available of this one and others.
