Orb Weaver? - Araneus illaudatus

Orb Weaver? - Araneus illaudatus
Molino Basin, Pima County, Arizona, USA
September 11, 2012
Found hanging under the roof of the restroom in Molino Basin.

Moved to Araneus illaudatus
Moved from ID Request. I don't think we can be 100% certain of this ID without a ventral view, but I'm going to go ahead and move it here since I think this is more likely than A. gemmoides.

ID: Cat-faced spider
Looks like an orb weaver (as you said) Araneus illaudatus. I've found a few here in New Mexico. It seems they come in many shapes and colors, but mine were orange just like yours. They look very similar to the Cat-faced spiders.
