BOLD Data
What's the BOLD ID?

BOLD ID:
Hi Steve; the BOLD ID # is BIOUG00847-E01
I have also updated and added BOLD links for this specimen - above.

my lame excuse
Not sure how I missed it as it was starring me in the face when I previously created a tree for that BIN. In my defense, BOLD does not display the Sequence ID in the associated image list, just the Sample ID. Had the Sequence ID, JMMMB049-11m been displayed, I might have recognized it. Anyway, that's my lame excuse.

I think that BIN refers to an unknown species near Myelopsis alatella. I am not aware of any of the collectors of specimens in that BIN being experts except for Ian Watkinson but he has specimens with the same ID in other BINs. Only a couple of the others have the identifiers listed but those identifiers are BOLD employees who I know are not specialists.

I believe that Myelopsis subtetricella is restricted to east of the Rockies and am pretty sure that the moths by Vargo, Murray and McGuinness at MPG are correct. For more info, see my comments, here, here and here. While I don't think this BIN is correct for subtetricella, I'm far from certain and it may be a while before I can get things confirmed.
