Spotted Cucumber Beetle spread wings - Diabrotica undecimpunctata

Spotted Cucumber Beetle spread wings - Diabrotica undecimpunctata
32.1306, -97.8593, Somervell County, Texas, USA
September 11, 2012
I caught this image with wings extended at night near our porchlight. I don't think there are any other images showing transluscent body or spread wings. I had assumed the name came from being a agricultural pest, but the body itself looks a bit like a cucumber.

Also no other images are particularly close to this location.

I normally see them in daylight on flowers close to year round. Very fond of Opuntia in season. On many varieties of Asteraceae, and currently on Eryngo (Eryngium leavenworthii). This is a rural location, mostly restored habitat with some grazing. No row crops anywhere remorely close.
