Three-banded Robber Fly eating a Habro jumping spider - Stichopogon trifasciatus - female

Three-banded Robber Fly eating a Habro jumping spider - Stichopogon trifasciatus - Female
Shirley, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
August 12, 2006
Size: ~10mm

Very fine
Image Tom. This is one of the few Robbers that frequently take spiders and I have seen them with Jumpers on several occasions.

They must be
good hunters, tackling dangerous prey like jumping spiders.
