I've sent a message to the gal who has traveled...
..throughout the U.S. the past 3 summers - collecting tree crickets for her PhD on speciation. I'm hoping she'll have some input on nigricornis group species in New Jersey. There seems to be a lot of black on the 1st antennal segment (even though we can't see the front) which makes me think O. forbesi or O. nigricornis. A clear view of the antennal markings, however, would not help determine which of these 2 species this is...they are too similar. Only the pulse rate at a given temperature can distinguish which is which.

Beautiful photos. It's interesting to see that ?seed laying on the top of it's wing.
