Robber Fly - Mallophora fautrix

Robber Fly - Mallophora fautrix
The Woodlands, Montgomery County, Texas, USA
August 12, 2006
Having "very slim antennae tips" points to Mallophora over Laphria, so I'm guessing that. Can anyone help with further information and Identification? Thanks for any help!

Robber fly
This nice photo shows Mallophora orcina (also known as the 'southern bee killer').

Mallophora
Eric-- wouldn't this be M. fautrix instead of M. orcina, what with the all-yellow abdomen and the TX distribution?
