Least Skipper
Least Skipper: Ancyloxypha numitor

Found near pond or stream? And flying low above the ground or water?

Near a stream. Also, it was
Near a stream. Also, it was very small for a skipper.

ahh interesting
so then what are the differences between this one and mine? just curious...

Apex of forewing
The apex of the dorsal forewing is probably the most distinctive difference from this view. The Zabulon Skipper has a dark patch near the apex, but the Least Skipper has a simple dark band around the edge of the wing, without the patch. The Least Skipper's abdomen appears longer and skinnier to me.

The Zabulon's flight can be almost too fast to follow, and high, while the Least flaps weakly near the ground.

The Zabulon is larger, too, but this might be useful only if you happen to have them side by side, which happens less often than one might hope. :)

thanks
how interesting!

Zabulon?
no expert here for sure, but a guess...
