A. barbatus? - Anastoechus barbatus

A. barbatus? - Anastoechus barbatus
Sandilands Provincial Forest, se of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
August 10, 2012
Size: aprox 10mm's
In mixed woods, on clay/sandy soil. Many grasshoppers around, tiger beetles too. Is this A. barbatus?

Moved
This should be A. barbatus. The characters to distinguish it from A. melanohalteralis aren't visible (halter colour and presence of black hairs behind the eye) but only barbatus seems to occur in MB.

Moved from Bee Flies.

A. barbatus
Thanks Joel. I have only seen reference to barbatus for Manitoba as well.
