Generally scutellaris and spl
Generally scutellaris and splendida can be distinguished by:
scutellaris: sandy soil, shorter more domed wing covers, no white markings on wing covers, brighter colours
splendida: clay soil, often slopes, longer and flatter wing covers, often with at least minor white markings, these can be seen at the end and sides of the wing covers on your photo, more of a brick red

Good information
Thank you for sharing. I usually just see the C. repanda, and have been excited to find one of the red varieties. So when my husband spotted this one I was thrilled!
