The closest I could find was some kind of Blister Beetle, but the head does not look right.

After looking at numerous pictures, I'm leaning towards Disonycha.
Thanks for getting me that close.

 
Disonycha may well be the case, but...
...several spp. in both genera are not yet in the guide, and they may look uncannily similar from above
