Dusky-faced Meadow Katydid - Orchelimum campestre?? - Conocephalus brevipennis - male

Dusky-faced Meadow Katydid - Orchelimum campestre?? - Conocephalus brevipennis - Male
Beiser Field Station, Washington County, Ohio, USA
September 14, 2012
We have a population of these at our field station - best I can tell, they are Orchelimum campestre, but would appreciate confirmation/correction. Separate posts of another male and a female coming soon.

This one is a male Conocephalus brevipennis
Orchelimum species will mostly be larger and bulkier, and will have longer wings than this one (though Conocephalus can also have long wings.

Moved from Grasshoppers, Crickets, Katydids.

thanks
Thanks for the ID. Should have got this one when I took the additional pictures - but they sure don't fit my mental image of a conehead.
