Really Unknown Fly - Sphecomyiella valida

Really Unknown Fly - Sphecomyiella valida
Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, USA
April 25, 2012
Size: approx. 15 mm BL
Found on back porch after dark. I gave up looking around for this one. That head shape is familiar, though not in such a large specimen, and I cannot place what family of flies I remember it from. This one is kind of ragged-looking, I'm thinking it's because it is a hunter. Note in the second photo, that just under the head of this fly there is what appears to be the head of a victim. This will be most obvious to editors who can enlarge to a great degree that other viewers cannot. I am very curious about this one.....
