Reddish pentatomid - Podisus brevispinus

Reddish pentatomid - Podisus brevispinus
East Knowlesville, Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada
September 7, 2011
Size: ~1cm
Could be a Bonasa sp or Euchistus sp, but I couldn't find a match anywhere in BG for that colour.

Podisus sp. prob. brevispinus --det. D.B. Thomas
Moved from Podisus.

colour is very unreliable and may change dramatically...
...as the season progresses.
a good general rule to follow is, focus on morphology and disregard the colour -- try to imagine insects in gray scale. ['it helps to be colour-blind']

Moved from Stink Bugs.
