Unknown longhorn beetle - Scudderia furcata

Unknown longhorn beetle - Scudderia furcata
6 miles north of Scotts Valley, Santa Cruz County, California, USA
June 18, 2011
Size: 3648 x 2736
This particular beetle has been seen frequenting clarkia and poppy flowers for a couple of years now. My daughter has been fond of it and has a couple of other photos as well.

In that location it should be Scudderia furcata
It could be S. mexicana, which is closely similar (nymphs are basically identical), but so far the adults from that far north all seem to be S. furcata.

Moved from Grasshoppers, Crickets, Katydids.

Moved from ID Request.

Actually
a Katydid nymph!

Oh. I had thought when I post
Oh. I had thought when I posted it that the legs were uncharacteristic of a beetle, but as should be obvious, I'm no bug guy.

Do you know what species it might be so that I can tell my daughter?

Thanks.

Might be...
...one of the Bush Katydids in the genus Scudderia:

Here's another photo
I don't know how one posts a thumbnail here yet, but I'll try the ol' html.
