Clover Thrips - Haplothrips leucanthemi

Clover Thrips - Haplothrips leucanthemi
Thompson Falls, Sanders County, Montana, USA
June 17, 2006
Size: around 1mm
ID from reading Insects Their Natural History and Diversity (1). It says that Daisy flowers are almost invariably speckled with this species.

I find they are mildly annoying. They tend to rub off onto your skin and "bite". It's not painful, but annoying. They are hard to get off once they are on your skin, because you can barely see them.
