Immature little bugs

Immature little bugs
Lakeland, Polk County, Florida, USA
September 21, 2012
Found this 'cluster' of tiny bugs underneath a large bird of paradise leaf in my backyard near my butterfly garden. They stayed all together in a cluster for days until they disappeared. I found another cluster a week ago on a sage plant that had some sort of oozing center..their food source or egg sac? I did not get a picture of it, kind of creeps me out.

Moved from ID Request.

Coreid Bug nymphs…
These won't eat your caterpillars when they grow up.
