Large Teneb - Eleodes grandicollis
North Peak, Cuyamaca Mountains, San Diego County, California, USA

Size: 28 mm
Oak/pine woodland at 4200 feet elevation. Has spines on the forelegs, but not on the other legs. I have seen a similar-looking species in the local desert. Eleodes dentipes??
