Mating, eating or hatching? - Anisomorpha buprestoides

Mating, eating or hatching? - Anisomorpha buprestoides
Guyton, Effingham County, Georgia, USA
October 21, 2012
Size: 1 1/2-2 in
This, at first, looked like something eating a locust but then again it appears as if something were hatching or mating. I was thinking praying mantis but the more I look, the more I am unsure. I'll post a second pic to go with this.

This was hanging of my butterfly bush. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you! I've never figured out how to do that. :-)

The easiest way...
...is to click the "add image" link under the first pic. When you upload the second, it'll automatically be linked.
