Calopteryx aequabilis  (Say, 1839) male. Slower moving portion of the Powder River, downstream from Hudspeth Road where a few large shrubs (willow/alder) remain on the banks on both sides of the river. A few Jewelwings were found mostly on limbs or grasses directly next to, but most often, overhanging the river. Photo was taken at 3 PM.
