Thank you, Robert. I looked at both and made the wrong decision. I will look at both again and look for advice on the markings.

 
Describe moths
It's good to get in the habit of describing new moths you see, even before you start looking through images. It not only helps you find them, but the better you are at describing a moth, the better you'll be at understanding descriptions. Even if neither moth in question has a written description, you can compare images by your descriptions. Compare the abdomens of your specimen with the two species. What's different? If you're not already familiar with, check out moth morphology. Hopes this makes sense.

WOW, another gem! I had NO i
WOW, another gem! I had NO idea where people get the marks I see in some comments. I have bought this HUGE enclycopedia - Powell's Moths of North America, but I don't find many "markings" in it. The new Peterson's sometimes has some, but I have seen more in the "comments" on Bug Guide. Thanks for giving me another place to look. I DO try to do as much research as I can before asking for an ID confirmation.
