Soldier Fly - Psellidotus sp? - Odontomyia
Palm Beach County, Florida, USA
August 14, 2006
This photo was taken at the Frenchman's Forest Natural Area. ID based on other images here in guide. Please correct me if I am off:)

Moved
Moved from Psellidotus. Sorry Norm, no dorsal view:(

Odonotmyia
This is an Odontomyia, probably O. cincta Olivier. However, there are a couple of Florida species that are similar, and a dorsal view is necessary for a positive identification.
