New Mexico redneck - Tricorynus

New Mexico redneck - Tricorynus
Organ Mountains foothills, Dona Ana County, New Mexico, USA
August 9, 2006
Size: about 3.2 mm
A tucked anobiid is difficult to key because the antennae are often the best ID clue. This individual is darker and balder than most and has a red neck that might be of help in determining species. It is also not *playing* dead. Came to UV lights.

As with most of the insects I collected, this specimen was given to New Mexico State University.
