Oct. 27, 2012. This species appeared locally last month and has been common and widespread nectaring at late-blooming wildflowers. Is this a tachinid?

Tachinidae. Probably not clear enough for ID to genus. The shape of the M vein is found in Siphonini and Leskiini, and probably a few other taxa.
