Mydas Fly - Mydas clavatus

Mydas Fly - Mydas clavatus
Rondeau Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada
June 29, 2006

Moved
Moved from Mydas.

Mydas clavatus
This is a nice image of a Mydas clavatus. I agree that the discolouration of antennae and legs is due to recent emergence. This is the only known Mydas species from eastern Canada.

Wow
Very unusual antenna. This cannot be M. clavatus. Everything else gets iffy in this genus.

unusual?
Do you mean in form or in colouration? They are lighter in colour as this is a recently emerged (teneral) individual.
