Moved from Scoliid Wasps.

this is campsomeris quadrama
this is campsomeris quadramaculata

campsomeris quadramaculata
The original question was "Is the campsomeris quadramaculata a cicada killer?" I just saw a large specimen, out in the garden, kill a cicada and drag it away.

Scoliidae wasp
I think it is more likely to be Scolia sp or some other scoliid. Those spiny legs tell of a burrowing life!
