Unusual Flying Bug - Xylotrechus sagittatus

Unusual Flying Bug - Xylotrechus sagittatus
Maringouin, Iberville Parish, Louisiana, USA
August 20, 2006
Size: 1.8 cm body
Looks like a cricket, moves like a fly

Looks like
a Cerambycid beetle to me. If not a Cerambycid, definitely a beetle.

But then, I'm no expert.

Reminds us of
Xylotrechus sagittatus, in the guide here . See what you think. This will add Louisiana to the data map!

Arrowhead Borer
All the charadteristics are there to make a very good match. Since capturing the monster, I have seen several around the greenhouse, boathouse, and at the security night light. Thanks VERY MUCH!
