Is this Triploecus? Note that, as illustrated in the wing diagram here and described in the salient Bombyliidae key couplets (12 & 13) of the Manual of Nearctic Diptera(1), the vein M1 ends in R5 some distance from the wing margin; R2+3 is curved upward apically by more than a right angle before meeting the costa. Also, there's a stump vein at the apical bend in R2+3.

That's a nice wing drawing, but is the species name a typo? (T. novum) ...or is this an example of gender-agreement name changes. (T. novus)
