NCthing - Atanycolus longicauda - Female
Buncombe County, North Carolina, USA
August 19, 2006
Size: body maby 1 inch
Found in daytime. It flew around my legs and landed on my pants then on to this leaf.

A. longicauda
Not sure if this is longicauda. The ovipositor is suppose to be at least 1.5 times the length of the body. It could be a large species, like simplex or impressifrons.

Atanycolus longicauda Shen. -- Paul Marsh det.

Female braconid.
