The narrowness of the black area on the hind femur
makes me think more likely M. bivittatus, but the two are variable, and it is sometimes difficult to be absolutely certain. I would think M. bivittatus more common and likely in Ontario too, but I don't know that for sure either (varies from year to year, I'm sure). Brenda, if you saw adults in the same area later in the summer, they are easy to tell apart then.
