dark-sutured aphodiine dung beetle - Labarrus pseudolividus

dark-sutured aphodiine dung beetle - Labarrus pseudolividus
Mesilla Park, Dona Ana County, New Mexico, USA

Size: about 4 mm
My final evening in New Mexico I collected small-to-tiny beetles that came to incandescent lights in a carport, including several of these distinctly marked aphodiine dung beetles.

Although the view may not be of this individual, here's what the underside looks like:

The beetle in the foreground is the Hairy Fungus Beetle Typhaea stercoria (family Mycetophagidae), which was overwhelmingly the most numerous visitor to the lights.
