This is one of three of these beetles to land on top of my brown colored car while I was washing it.

All 4 specimens you sent me are of this species- 3 females and 1 male.

It is nice to get a species name for this beetle. (and the Colymbetes specimen also (1))

A male; probably an Ilybiosoma or Ilybius..would really like to take a closer look at it if you have kept it.

I still have the specimen, plus the other two collected at the same time. I also have a Colymbetes specimen (same as here (1)) that was collected at the same time and place as the three Agabinae beetles - if you would like to try to species ID that one also.
