originally placed in genus Euclidia in 1882 by Grote, placed in Callistege in 1983 by Hodges, and returned to Euclidia in 2003 by Goater, Ronkay, and Fibiger, who designated Callistege a subgenus of Euclidia

wingspan about 30-33 mm, based on two Internet photos
Identification
Adult: forewing with distinctive pattern of light brown lines and dark brown to blackish patches; medial line broad, continuous, lower portion curving down toward anal angle; hindwing light brown with gray shading, pale PM and subterminal lines, and dark terminal line
Range
Arizona to Texas
Season
adults fly from July to September
