Size: 4"
I found this while splitting pine for firewood. There were three more that looked identical but smaller. This one was around 4" long. It kept biting my glove. I took the three that I found and placed them under some tree litter next to the swamp. They should be fine and dig into something there. But before I did, I got these pictures. I am very familiar with common grub worms. These are blowing my mind. Please help me identify this and put my mind at ease. The body was long and segmented. It kinda looked like a tape worm lol. It used its head to wriggle through the log. I did not see any legs at all. Nothing other than the pinchers. Didnt even have anything on its face to distiguish which way was up for its body.
