Size: 4 inches
Was found on the side of my house, the weather is cloudy and sprinkling, about 60 degrees.

Good visual match
I don't know enough to be sure there isn't another male that looks similar, but the dorsal pattern is right and the range works too. I think the ID is very likely.

. Yes, male Hogna looks right, but I'm not sure I can be certain of species at this point. A ventral view on these can be very helpful for IDing.

Wolf spider
This one's actually a wolf spider. The eye arrangement with those two big eyes in the face shot give it away.
He's a male, looks like genus Hogna to me. Maybe H. carolinensis from the orange chelicerae/black undersides of the leg joints.
