Linyphiid - Linyphantes victoria - male

Linyphiid - Linyphantes victoria - Male
Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
November 18, 2012
Size: ~2-2.5mm body length
Found in the folds of a plastic sheet. Another Linyphantes by the look of the palps, though I really messed up the angle on the ventral shot (we're looking at it somewhat distally).

Like most Linyphantes I've met so far (but unlike the recent #8 female), he was not very cooperative and I didn't get to do much stacking with the habitus photos.

He was with a similar looking female, guarding her I presume. I'm attempting to raise her. She looks pretty plump, so I suspect she's about ready to molt.

"Image 724440 is perfect for diagnosis. It's L. victoria C&I (or at least the species I call that pending a revision - it differs slightly from C&I's original figure)."

Moved from Spiders.

Linyphantes victoria
Very nice, now we have both the male & female... not that we can ID these from habitus, but it's still nice to see them represented.
