McColloch, J.W. and W.P. Hayes. 1919. The Lachnosterna of the Vicinity of Manhattan, Kan. Transactions of the Kansas Academy of Science, 30: 184-195.

SOURCE OF DATA: The following local list of Lachnosterna is based primarily on 41,633 specimens collected by the writers during the years 1916 1917 and 1918. The work has been done in connection with an investigation on the biology of Lachnosterna of Kansas which is one phase of studies on insects injurious to the roots of staple crops being made at this station. In addition use has been made of the collection of the department of entomology which contains approximately 2,000 pinned specimens and reference has been made to the literature on distribution relative to the area under discussion.
