Size: 3/4inch
Don't know whether Bugguide recognizes this as a full species (Calephelis arizonensis) or as a subspecies (C. rawsoni arizonensis)? Anyway they're beautiful butterflies and look remarkably close to C. virginiensis. Either way I think this one is new for the guide.

Yes, lots of images coming in.
We always move the butterfly images to the base butterfly page in the hope that some of the butterfly experts will enjoy confirming the identifications and moving images into the guide. We decided to check to see if any of the images were ready to be moved and found yours. We checked All-Leps and found arizonensis listed as a species, so we made that guide page and moved it. Interestingly there was also a rawsoni there too so we had to add that page also. We'd like to think that things will slow down a little during the winter, except we know that we still have images that we shot in June and July that we haven't posted yet! So...
