Explanation of Names
Specific epithet for the larval feeding habit (conifers).
Range
Known from Alberta, British Columbia and California. (1)
Food
Larvae have been reared from lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta), Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), and juniper (Juniperus sp.) in Alberta; Engelmann spruce (Picea engelmannii) and western hemlock (Tsuga heterophylla) in British Columbia. There is also a doubtful record for cottonwood (Populus sp.). (1)
