Archips eleagnana (McDunnough, 1923)

Cacoecia eleagnana McDunnough, 1923 (1)

Powell (1983) resurrected A. eleagnana, A. myricana, and A. mortuana from synonymy where Razowski (1977) had placed them under A. argyrospila. (2)

Explanation of Names

Specific epithet based on the author's recollection of that the moths are found in association with oleaster (Eleagnus). (1)

Range

Holotype male: Aweme, Manitoba. July 7. (N. Criddle).

Food

Larva feeds on Eleagnus. (3)
