"I take pleasure in naming the species for Lloyd M. Martin, veteran collector of the Arizona Lepidoptera fauna, who has been most cooperative in making material available from the Los Angeles County Museum collections." (1)

Adult - A shining golden species having the forewings marked with broad, ochreous-brown spots and bands. (1)

Holotype male: Pine Crest, Mt. Graham, Pinaleno Mountains, Graham County, Arizona, 7300', June 28, 1955 (Lloyd M. Martin).
