Picture-Winged Fly ? - Euxesta stigmatias - Naples , Collier County, Florida, USA November 12, 2012 Size: 5 mm
This fly was feeding on dung in a scrub area. It seemed to "row" its wings while moving along the dung surface. I am trying to figure out to which family it belongs. It seems to fit some characteristics of Family Ulidiidae (Picture-Winged Flies) and some characteristics of Sepsidae (Black Scavenger Flies). Does anyone recognize what it is?
