First paragraph of Preface:
"A revision of Jose Rollin de la Torre-Bueno's A
Glossary of Entomology, published in 1937, was long overdue. For over half a century the
Glossary, itself an expanded and modified version of John B. Smith's
An Explanation of Terms Used in Entomology, published in 1906, has served as the most important reference for entomological terms in the English language.
Supplement A by George S. Tulloch, published in 1962, enhanced the value of the
Glossary, but even it is long out of date."

BugGuide's Glossary is very informative with its illustrations, and I like the convenience of the hyperlinked adaptation of Jardine's
The Dictionary of Entomology(1). However, the subject
Torre-Bueno Glossary is much more up to date and complete (the glossary proper is 821 pages), so I always reach for it first. I have no experience with Gordh and Headrick's
A Dictionary of Entomology(2), though.
