Large Midge, Small Crane Fly or Something else? - Culiseta incidens
Kent, King County, Washington, USA
November 28, 2012
Size: 10mm
This was flying around the house. Seems to large to be a midge and to small to be a crane fly.

Mosquito
Male mosquito

Oh
I don't think I have photographed a mosquito before. I guess I probably should not let it fly around the living room.

Males don't bite
Male mosquitoes, black flies, midges, and horse flies don't bite. The few biting male flies mostly look similar to house flies.
