Moved
Confirmed by examination of voucher specimen and a new species for BugGuide.

Moved from Agriotes.

Kool!
Thanks Blaine!

Moved to genus for now
There is a complex of species in the PNW, two of which (imperfectus and vandykei) that get into northern CA and look similar. Examination of male genitalia is the best way to separate them.
Interestingly, these species are listed as being smaller (none longer than 9 mm). I assume your size of 12 mm is correct since it is a mounted specimen?

Moved from Click Beetles.

Remeasured...
... yes it is 12mm! : )

possible Agriotes imperfectus
dont have my Agriotes revision with me at work. Will revisit tonight or this weekend (also need to verify current placement; several western Agriotes have been moved to other genera and vice-versa).

Agriotes-y; pale pronotal angles distinctive?
