American burying beetle - Nicrophorus americanus
Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island, USA

These are second instar larvae and were photographed at Roger Williams Park Zoo. The zoo breeds the beetles in captivity and works with the USF&WS to release adult beetles on Block Island (RI) and Nantucket Island (MA).
