Parelaphidion aspersum - 7 km east of Paw Paw, 39.5224, -78.3641, Morgan County, West Virginia, USA August 2, 2012 Size: 15 mm
Collected at night on the trunk of a living Chestnut Oak (Quercus prinus). Note the glabrous ridges on the pronotum, spines on the antennae and elytral tips, but without femoral spines. Before specimen was dry, I could straighten out each antenna to just short of the elytral apices to rule out Parelaphidion incertum (see guides by Lingafelter and Yanega).
