Size: ~8mm
This little guy was seen climbing up a tree. There is something living under all those decorations. Any idea what does this? Maybe a spider?

I repectfully disagree. Most of the lacewings have a rounder shape too them and more sticks and leaves from what I've seen. I'm no expert but this seems to have much more dirt and frass attached to it, I don't see any sticks or leaves. This reminds me of a bagworm. Not all bagworms use pine needles.

I'm not sure if yours is this but in southern chciago I had this little oddity a year or so ago.

I didn't study the image very closely first time around, but I see now that it could certainly be a bagworm.

Definitely looked more similiar to the one you shot. Especially the shiny stuff near his head.

lacewing larva
in some lacewing species the larvae are sticky-backed and gather debris like this one has. Compare.
