Cicindela formosa - male

Cicindela formosa - Male
Belgrade, 44.467, -69.830, Kennebec County, Maine, USA
September 12, 2012
Size: 18 mm
Found in old gravel pit with four other species: scutellaris, repanda, tranquebarica, and punctulata. The formosa are two to three times the bulk of the other tiger beetles in the pit. I wonder if they ever prey on the smaller species?
