Nylanderia sp? - Brachymyrmex patagonicus

Nylanderia sp? - Brachymyrmex patagonicus
Frisco, Collin County, Texas, USA
August 30, 2012
The extremely sparse, stiff, and ordered hairs on the thorax and gaster are throwing me here; it doesn't seem to match up to any particular Nylanderia species I can find for my area. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong genus? Or maybe there's just more variation than I expect within a species here.

Moved from Ants.

Brachymyrmex
Lack of erect hairs on head, and what appears to be a nine-segmented antenna would lead me to believe this Brachymyrmex and probably the introduced B. patagonicus.

Thanks!
It'd been bugging me for awhile and I wasn't making progress in finding it.

I appreciate the listing of the distinguishing characteristics too!
